This is where the three Pokemon were resurrected by the legendary Ho-Oh, aru... I wonder where they are n--Wa!

[One of the boards collapses under China's foot with a loud noise, causing him to stumble.]

Yes. That is correct. In my world there's a curse known as devil fruit. That's his. Though some would argue that's not much of a curse.

I wouldn't consider such an ability to be a curse either, aru.

What's the downside to devil fruit?

Drowning. Never being able to swim again, always weak to the ocean. It doesn't seem to have any effect in this place, which is the strangest of all.

Oh, that would be a great disadvantage for a pirate or a sailor, aru.

It's because Johto takes away any special abilities upon arrival, I've also heard this place has brought over a few people who were dead before.

And yes, it does... As well bring people here more than ten years apart from each other sometimes. It's still fucking bizarre.

I have been here since last October, but sometime around April I went into one of those comas, aru.

I was only asleep for two weeks, but it seemed more like one year to me, aru. Nothing much occurred to induce me to age in appearance.

When I "returned" home, I just picked off from where I was last time and progressed from that point, aru.

Johto has definitely given my mind a couple of painful twists, aru.

Well, when I awoke there was this Trapinch trying to eat my hair. Turns out it hatched from the egg I received on Easter, which I missed due to my coma, aru. As for the rest of my Pokemon, they had been in their Pokeballs.

Sounds right... this place is nothing short of insane really.

It hatched the egg??

[China pauses and mentally slaps himself, though he does murmur something in Mandarin.]

Ah, this language... What I meant to say was that it hatched from the egg, aru.

Oh... I see.

For a minute I thought you meant it took care of it... so they can do that even with their owner unconscious.

Apparently I had gotten the egg as an Easter gift, which surprised me, aru.

Still, I wish I had a better awakening then I did that day. The newly-hatched Trapinch was trying to eat my ponytail!
