[003] Hangover after the festival/Action for those in Violet
Aiyaaa! I swear, I'll only drink one glass of sake from now on, aru!
[It's the day after the festival, and China can't even get out of bed due to a bad hangover. He has his head under the pillow, trying to soothe the throbbing in his head. His Seel, Li, and his Sentret, Ling, are both sitting on his bed.]
Seel? [Li pats his master's back with a flipper.]
[Ling lets the equivalent of a sigh escape her mouth and also pats her master's back with one of her paws.]
[It looks like China will be in bed all day... and it looks like he's in for a looong, painful one.]
[!OCC NOTE: Anyone in Violet City can go see him. Whether you saw China at the festival or not doesn't matter. How you found out his location doesn't matter either. You're just there. You can:

tell him "I told you so"

It's all up to you.]

Yes. Most of my visits have been to New York since I work for the United Nations, but I've been to California and Las Vegas a couple of times as well. Plus I have close ties with an American who also works for the UN.
He goes by the name of Alfred F. Jones.

The UN? That must surely be rewarding work. I haven't had any close contact with the organisation at all, but I certainly admire their work. I must confess, though, that I have little knowledge of who is in it.
[Small smile.]

I also have a few younger brothers and sisters who work for the UN. Our family has had connections with the government and the like for generations, you see?
no subject
Really? That's interesting. How did that start?

Well, according to the stories that have been passed down it all started during the Boxer Rebellion back in 1899. My great-grandfather, who was also named Wang Yao, was one of the leaders. Despite China's loss against the Eight-Nation Alliance, he still managed to keep close contact with the authorities and from that point on so did his descendents.
Then my father was a soldier both in World War II and the Korean War. I've also seen service in the armed forces myself.

[He listens with great interest] I must say I rather like that. Seeing how generations of people can find it within them to work together is something I really appreciate. The world should see more of that.

[He shifts his weight on the bed a little.] Well, everything seemed to be going well up until me and my siblings were born. We had some... issues, amongst each other and it all led to some harsh conflict. But we get along much better now, aru.
no subject
[He nods, still with a small smile] I'm happy to hear that. I hope it's all resolved.
You seem to be feeling better now.

[He returns the smile.]
Yes, I do actually. Thank you very much, aru. And once I've fully recovered, I'll be moving on to the next city with two of my younger brothers, aru.
Say, Dale, how about the next time we meet we go to a bar for some drinks? Although, I'll probably have just one considering this whole experience at the festival, aru.]
no subject
Hm, actually, Wang, did you ever consider coffee? [He leans forward with this smile.] It is the greatest brew I have ever tasted.
no subject
Er, I've tried coffee before, but I just don't like the taste, aru. So bitter... However, I do like green tea.
no subject
Ah - I haven't had a lot of tea after my initial introduction, in all honesty. The same goes with alcohol, though. I made mistakes in my youth regarding it I don't plan on repeating, so you might understand my aversion. But a friendly drink is nothing I'll say no to, so I'll definitely hit you up on that offer.
[He stands up, with the appearance of stretching slightly] Well, I'll better leave you to your recovery now. I hope you'll be feeling well soon enough.
no subject
Until we meet again, Dale.
