[005] Video/Action for Violet City

[The screen turns on and all you see is China's palm. It seems that he is trying to put the pokegear up somewhere. Once he has the device safely secure in the knothole of a tree, he withdraws his hand and steps back so he isn't too close to the camera. Behind him is a large body of water. He bends down to pick up Li and when he's standing upright again, a Furret climbs up him and curls herself around his neck. He smiles at the camera.]

Nihao! Remember that Sentret who wouldn't listen to anything I said? Well, look at her now, aru. [The Furret nuzzles her face against China's cheek.] Ling evolved a few days ago and she's not scared of me anymore. She's a good girl now, aru. [Ling lets out a happy cry and continues to nuzzle her face against her master's.] Ah, so cute~

[He remembers that he's on camera and hides his embarrassment by clearing his throat.] B-But Ling is not the only one, aru. My Lien-Hua has also evolved. [His back now faces the camera as he looks towards the lake.] Lien-Hua! Come out, aru!

[If you look closely you can see a disturbance in the water. It's starts out small, but it soon rises out of the water and you hear a loud roar, which disturbs the pokegear and replaces the image of Yao with static. Once the static clears, you see this huge, blue, dragon-like creature with red eyes and its mouth agape.]

[China faces the camera again and he's smiling.] Some of you said she was just a stupid fish, but I've proved you wrong, aru! I knew she had an inner strength all along!

[Lien-Hua leans down so China can stroke her face. He coos to her in Manadarin before addressing the pokegear again.] Even though she's big now, she's still very affectionate, aru. She's not as scary as she looks, really. [He strokes her behind one of the fins on her face.] Ah~ Isn't she beautiful, aru?

[Li prods China's chest with one of his flippers, jealous of all the attention his master was giving to Lien-Hua. China stops stroking the Gyarados' face and looks down at his Seel. He chuckles and pets him behind the little horn on his head.]

Don't worry, Li, you'll have your chance to evolve someday, aru.

[Have clapping! Lots of it! Dee is looking so excited.]

How wonderful! Everyone's Magikarp seem to be evolving since I've gotten here. Yours seems like one of the most well trained.

[Yao smiles sheepishly and rubs the back of his head with one hand as he hold Li in the other.]

Haha, you're very kind, aru. Anyway, the truth is my Magikarp wanted to come with me, so she's been affectionate towards me since the first day we met, aru.

...I should catch a Magikarp, if they're around here. How did you train her up? [Scott asked, his Quilava by his side.]

Contratulations on your evolutions. I do not know much about this Magikarp, but I've heard things here and there. It's also good to know that Sentrets become less cowardly. It's becoming difficult to train mine.

[action]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Um, there are some Magikarp here, but they all swim away when they see you, aru. I caught Lien-Hua back in Cherrygrove.

As for how I trained her, well, one of the things I did was that I'd summon her during the battle and then return her and replace her with another pokemon. It's a slow process, though. Another thing I did was give her these things called rare candies (http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/8/8d/Bag_Rare_Candy_Sprite.png). You can buy them at the store, aru.

[Ling tilts her head at Scott. It seems she remembers him from the festival.]

Thank you.

Hmph. My Sentret was more stubborn than she was cowardly, aru. In fact, she wasn't afraid to bring harm on me. Still, just keep trying and I'm sure your pokemon will come to its senses eventually.

Have you tried feeding it its favorite food, aru? That might help it to trust you more.

Congratulation on the evolution. How did you train her?

[Souji himself has a Magikarp but their training...it's not going so well... Might as well ask someone with the experience. ]

They sell Rare Candy?! [GASP]

[action]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Xie xie, aru.

Well, it was a long, slow process. During a battle I would summon her but then call her back and replace her with another pokemon. Still, I remember that in the games the pokemon will gain EXP anyway. The EXP is split between the two pokemon that participated in the battle, which is why it's a long process.

Although, another thing I did was feed her some kind of candy, aru. Someone told me that it was called a "rare candy" and that it could level up any pokemon by one level. I think it worked, too.

[He nods at everything.]

Hm, I heard about that switching tactic before, but not about this "rare candy". Where did you happen to get it?

[action]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Apparently yes, but they're so expensive, aru! I was only able to buy two, so the main reason Lien-Hua was able to evolve was because I kept switching her with another pokemon at the beginning of a battle.

Honestly, those candies have such a ridiculous price, aru!

[voice]

[identity profile] useddestinybond.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Mine just seems to be terrified of everything. My butler especially.

I didn't even realize they had favorite food. [more to himself] I might have to ask Sebastian about that.

[action]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Well, they're called "rare candy" for a reason, aru. I found it while I was taking a walk in the forest. However, I've heard that they're very difficult to find so I was lucky to find one, aru.

[action]

[identity profile] awesome-scott.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
They'd have to be, if they still work the same. There's no good ways to cheat the system in here.

[voice]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
That's strange. Did something happen between those two, aru?

Neither did I. I only found out when my French friend told me about it. Try looking through the pokedex for information on a Sentret's diet and it might give you a hint at what they like, aru.

[personal profile] tarotcards 2010-11-22 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
[He nods again.]

That is pretty lucky. I'll probably just have to train them with the old fashion way then.

[action]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
[He sighs.] I guess not, aru. Too bad, though. I remember back home I'd find out all these cheat codes from my younger brother since he works close with the company that makes the games.

[He chuckles.] He'd get so mad at me, though.

[action]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid that's the only solution, aru. I mean, even with the rare candy, it only helped her level up once, so I had to train her for the most part.

[action]

[identity profile] awesome-scott.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Your brother worked with Nintendo!? That's so awesome! [not quite, Scott.]

[voice]

[identity profile] useddestinybond.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
[He lets out a bit of a sigh] Nothing happened. Sebastian just has a tendency to be... intimidating... to some. Considering Sentret seems to be intimidated by everything it seems to stand that Sebastian does too.

Thank you for the advice, I shall have to look into that.

[voice]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that particular pokemon does have a tendency to be paranoid, aru.

You're welcome.

[action]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. [He chuckles again.] I remember that even when he was small, he was very smart, aru. Odd, but smart.

I heard from my other younger brother that he was here before, but then he went back home somehow. [He sighs.]

[Puzzlette looks up at the huge Gyarados.]

My, my, s-such an ever so impressive Pokemon! Even if she does look the teensiest bit frightening...!

[Action]

[identity profile] gochuugoku.livejournal.com 2010-11-22 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't she, aru?

And I know she looks mean, but she's not, really. Would you like to pet her?
